The Blue Sage Writers of Idaho
Finding inspiration with every click on a keyboard
The Blue Sage Writers of Idaho are a fun, talented, and small group of local authors who write in various genres. (See below) Our membership consists of both Traditionally Published, Non-Published, and Self-Published authors. We meet once a month to learn from one another, brainstorm, critique, and share writing news or lesson tidbits learned through conferences, online Creative Writing classes, or podcasts.
Our ages range from 91-years-old to 32-years-old!
Our shared comradery and love to create has formed lifelong friendships.
Some of our precious members have passed away ... some have moved ... and some have retired from the craft. We miss them all so much! Tears, laughter and love have followed each and every one of them as we often recall and share our precious and enjoyable times side by side.
Our torch continues to flame hot inside the fourteen of us who carry it forward. Our burning need to imagine, inspire, and compose keeps us close and we cherish the small crackles of time we have left together. If the fire inside us smolders, we blow on the embers as a collective group, reigniting the sparks before they fade into ash.

Our Story
As far back as the 1980s, a writers' group has existed in Idaho Falls, Idaho with many of the same members that the Blue Sage Writers of Idaho have today. Formley known as a romance writing group, our membership grew over the years to envelope all different writing styles and genres. Thus, in 2009, we left our romance writing affiliate and renamed our group, The Blue Sage Writers of Idaho. Today our talented authors create the following novels:

Thrillers that keep readers on the edge of their seats; Military thrillers, too, where research delved into the KGB for information; Lighthearted Horror, an oxymoron, but exists to entertain and scare; Non-fiction: true stories of Big Foot living everywhere in Idaho and Sacagawea's tales of helping explorers brave a new world to memoirs of a late night gentleman's typing sprint of life lessons, taking care of a parent with dementia, and NYC cabby stories of growth, heartache and inspiration; Inspirational books of hope and faith; Children's books where animals roam to teach and dragons fly the skies; Mysteries of all types like Cozies and Art thefts that lead to murder; Early American Immigrants tales of courage and struggle; Serial killers where the bad guys are the victims; Young adult werewolves, vampires, and fairies transforming the lives of teenagers; Fantasy where more surreal otherworldly creatures exist; Amateur Sleuth known for bungling attempts, comedy, and commonsense solving the crime; Science Fiction memorable aliens, created worlds in Outerspace and beyond; Paranormal novels that can center around ghosts, witches, demons, and more ... Time Travel can fit in this category too; Women of the West novels of fortitude and courage in the face of adversity; Women's Mainstream Fiction that takes the reader on emotional journeys, relationships, and life experiences of women; Romance (Charm's favorite genre) in various forms like Historical romance, Contemporary romance, Romantic Suspense, Romantic Comedy (Romcom) etc. Romance's "Heat" levels can fall into three categories: Sweet romance where innocent tales of love are spun, Sensual romance where the reader gets to peek inside the bedroom to view steamy love scenes between the hero and the heroine of the story, and Dark romance, where erotica lives and women's harems exist for the more daring and discretionary adult readers, and the heroine gets the villain. Romance has many subgenres, too, that can include some of the above: Paranormal Romance, Inspirational Romance, Time Travel Romance, Western Romance, Mystery Romance, etc...

Our Blue Sage Writers group has also written three Anthology Books of poems, short stories, and novel excerpts. Many of our members have entered various contests down through the years, not only novel contests, but short stories too. Several members wrote for agriculture reports and magazines and newspaper articles, including letters to the editors. And one talented lady is a playwright! (Smile)

Just a GREAT mix of writing talent!
